Scalable
Performance and Reliability
As required by good security practices, the WSA isolates
the web site from all networks. Any traffic going to or from the
web site must pass through the WSA. The WSA's clustering feature
ensures that the WSA will never throttle your site's performance
or bring your site down.
In situations needing improved performance or enhanced
availability, two or more WSAs can be installed "in parallel"
as a cluster. The WSAs in the cluster share the load, so the capacity
of the cluster is greater than the capacity of a single WSA. The
WSAs also monitor each other so in the unlikely event that a WSA
fails, the surviving WSAs pick up its traffic.
Adding a WSA to a cluster is as simple as cabling. The
WSA requires no special clustering hardware or software. A cluster
of WSAs is administered as a single unit, so the WSAs automatically
share configuration, security policy, user information, and logs.
Benefits:
-
Clustering increases the performance of the WSA
-
Clustering enhances the availability of the WSAs
by adding n-way redundancy
-
Forming a WSA cluster is as simple as adding a WSA
- no special hardware, software, or configuration.
